Saakashvili until 2021 not welcome in Ukraine

Former Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili is not welcome in Ukraine in the coming years.

The Ukrainian authorities have previously failed to ban Saakashvili. He broke through a cordon border guards last year with his supporters. The authorities had previously deprived him of his Ukrainian nationality after a conflict with his former ally: President Petro Poroshenko. It did not stop Saakashvili from having opposition in the Eastern European country.

The storming of the border would now be the reason for the entry ban. Saakashvili traveled to the Netherlands earlier this month after expelling Ukraine. The politician is married to the Dutch Sandra Roelofs, from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
