Russia does not observe missile treaty

Russia has new missiles for deployed medium-range and does thereby not respecting the agreements in the Russian-American INF Treaty (Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces).

The agreement of 1987 prohibits the placement of nuclear missiles with a range of up to 5,500 kilometers on the mainland. ' The Russian Federation again with its obligations under the Convention not after '', says a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which CNN relies. The new ground-to-ground missile is encoded as SS-C-8 and constitutes a part of the Iskander system. A battalion of these missiles is still in the test base Kapustin Yar in Volgograd, but a second has been in active service in December. Where that happened, was not disclosed. Washington has the Russians not to meet more frequently accused of treaties in recent years.
