Russia closes military deal with CAR

The defense ministers of Russia and the Central African Republic (CAR) have signed an agreement for more military cooperation.

The reinforced solidarity of the Kremlin with the CAR and the increasing interest in Africa came to the spotlight last month due to the murder of three Russian journalists. They investigated the presence of Russian mercenaries there.

Russia delivered light weapons to the Central African Republic earlier this year and says that 175 military and civilian instructors are stationed for training. The collaboration is gaining momentum through the agreement signed on Tuesday.
