Risk of infection by praying Ebola sufferers

Two Ebola patients who had left a Congolese hospital attended a prayer meeting shortly before their death.

The patients had previously left the hospital in Mbandaka with the help of family. Family members arrived on motorcycles to take the seriously ill duo with them. They could not walk without help on this point, said Dr Jean-Clément Cabrol of MSF in Geneva.

'They were taken to a prayer room with 50 people to pray,' said Cabrol. 'They were found at two o'clock in the morning. One of them was already dead, the other was dying. 'The authorities are trying to prevent ebola from getting further and further. About one and a half million people live in Mbandaka.
