Return migrant children to parents

The US government has met the deadline to reunite 102 migrant children with their parents, but in part.

The San Diego court had given the government until Tuesday to reunite the children, who are all younger than five, with their parents. A request for postponement was rejected on Monday. The Ministry of Justice had said that it needed more time to establish the right family relationships.

On Thursday, the ministry will have to appear before the court to explain exactly where the delays are and when it thinks that the other children will be returned to their parents.
