Resigned after riots Paraguay

Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes has sacked the interior minister and the chief of police.

Furious demonstrators stormed Friday the Paraguayan parliament building in protest against a secret ballot which should allow reelection of President Horacio Cartes. Over two hundred people were arrested.

Runners Saturday attacked the headquarters of opposition party PLRA, where she 25-year-old politician Rodrigo Quintana shot dead. Political leaders in Paraguay condemned the killing and demanding an investigation. Four officers were arrested. The votes have been suspended on the constitutional amendment on the re-election.
