Renzi again elected as party leader

Matteo Renzi, former Italian prime minister, was resolutely elected Sunday to the leader of the Central Democratic Party on Sunday.

Even before all votes were counted, it was clear that 42-year-old Renzi could not escape the profit. His rivals Andrea Orlando and Michele Emiliano have admitted their defeat.

Renzi joined Prime Minister in December 2016 after voting in a referendum against a constitutional reform, to which he had committed his fate. He wants to become prime minister again and exerts pressure to hold new elections this year instead of 2018.
