Red Cross warns of famine

In Yemen and Somalia in the short term could lead to a major famine.

Both countries are plagued by violence and drought. The Red Cross called for financial donations to offset the lack of food. Within three to four months the situation could become catastrophic if nothing is done.

In a statement issued in Geneva at the headquarters, says that in Yemen, Somalia, southern Sudan and northeastern Nigeria currently famine threatens as many as 20 million people.
