Rebels leave by bus from Douma

Dozens of rebel fighters have left the Syrian city of Douma in East Ghouta.

Part of the agreement was that the rebels let prisoners go. The state television showed that the first hostages arrived at an army post of the Syrian regime. They were greeted there by hundreds of family members and friends.

Fighters who do not want to leave will be given the opportunity to make peace with the Syrian authorities without being chased by security forces. Douma was the last city in East Ghouta where rebels continued to offer resistance. The agreement that Russia oversees was reached on Sunday.
