Ramadan takes leave after allegations

The internationally renowned Islamist Tariq Ramadan is currently not in a college hall of prestigious British Oxford University.

The university emphasizes in a statement that Ramadan denies having committed to women. By leaving on leave 'he can respond to the extremely serious allegations that have been expressed against him and which he all categorically denies'.

Two women earlier accused the Swiss of rape. This includes author Henda Ayari, who claimed that the abuse took place in 2012. Ramadan spoke of defamation. He previously worked as an integration advisor for the municipality of Rotterdam. He was also a guest lecturer at Erasmus University.
