The battle for the streaming market has claimed its first big casualty : Rdio.
According to Variety, users of radio is not too much to expect more from their music service. Pandora has parts of the business likely acquired solely to get the technology behind Rdio in hands. Pandora is not a streaming service such as Spotify or Rdio was Apple and its Music. Instead, Pandora is more comparable with a customized radio station.
Pandora has promised Rdio users are not immediately put out in the cold. The service will be gradually phased out.
