Queen Mother of Tonga deceased

Queen Mother Halaevalu Mata'aho Tonga on Sunday in a hospital in Auckland, New Zealand deceased.

According to reports from Tonga would Queen Halaevalu Mata'aho last week flew to New Zealand. Her granddaughter Princess Angelika was with her when she died. The Queen Mother was ninety years.

Mata'aho married in 1947, the then Crown Prince of the Pacific kingdom, Prince Siaosi who ruled from 1967 as King Tupou IV. The king died in 2006 after his son came as George Tupou V on the throne. He died in March 2012 and was succeeded by his younger brother, who now reigns as Tupou VI.

The king was on mission in a remote island group of his kingdom when news of the death of his mother was known.
