Prominent opposition figure Rwanda picked up

In Rwanda on Saturday the prominent activist Diane Rwigara was arrested, together with her mother and sister.

In Rwanda, Paul Kagame has been in power since 2000. In August, he was elected 98 percent of the votes for a third term. Rwigara wanted to take it to him in the elections, but was excluded prior to participation because her candidacy would be supported by insufficient people.

Kagame is popular because of rest and economic growth in the East African country. According to critics, however, he is increasingly authoritarian and press and opposition to the word.
