Professional hackers helped the FBI with iPhone

The FBI has had help from a group of professional hackers to break into an iPhone from a terror suspect after a shooting in San Bernardino.

Earlier it was believed that the FBI for unlocking the device received the support of the Israeli company Cellebrite. To crack the phone did the hackers used a vulnerability in iOS, a so-called zero-day exploit. With this information, the investigation department was able to identify the four digit code of the iPhone.

Apple refused to help the FBI to unlock the device. A judge ruled earlier this year that the government can not force Apple to break into the phone.
