Prisoner riot at protest French guards
More than 120 prisoners in the big prison in the French Fleury-Mérogis refuse to return to their cells.
According to French media there have been no reports of violence, but a special unit is going to restore order. The prisoners started their resistance around noon, when it became clear that their time was being cut open outdoors, possibly as a result of protests from guards.
The prison complex of Fleury-Mérogis, just south of Paris, has 4300 prisoners and is the largest prison in Europe.
