Prime Minister May: we did not follow Trump

British Prime Minister Theresa May has stressed that the attack on targets in Syria was in the British national interest.

May is talking to parliament on Monday about the attack of last weekend. The armed forces of the United Kingdom, France and the United States then fired more than one hundred missiles. The leader of the British opposition Labor said earlier that the Prime Minister should have consulted parliament prior to the attack.

The predecessor of May, David Cameron, asked the House of Commons in 2013 for permission for air strikes on targets in Syria. The parliament then voted against it.
