Political centipede Geoffrey Howe deceased

British Conservative politician Geoffrey Howe is deceased Friday at the age of 88 in Warwickshire.

Howe was at the time of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the longest-serving minister. He was then Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was also leader of the House of Commons.

He took in May of this year retired from the House of Lords. In November 1990 he resigned from Thatcher's Cabinet, a decision that is widely seen as the beginning of the political end of the 'Iron Lady'.
