Police officer shot dead in Iran

A police officer shot a policeman in Iran, the police reported Monday.

It is already the fifth day of revolt, the worst protests since 2009. Since Thursday people in Iran are taking to the streets, especially to protest against the government. It is dominated by conservative Shiite clergy. The reason for the protests include corruption suspicions and the lack of economic progress.

The policeman was killed when a demonstrator opened fire with a shotgun. Three others were injured.
