Police beat down riots in São Paulo

In the Brazilian city of São Paulo, people Friday to the streets to protest against the price hike in public transport.


         The protest march where thousands of people took part, was grim when masked youths threw stones at police. There is no word yet on casualties or arrests.
Many residents of the metropolis are outraged that increase costs, because the country already struggling with inflation of more than ten percent. More than a half million Brazilians last year, in the period from January to November, lost their jobs.
