Pilot in Belgium with free energy

The Walloon village of Crisnée will provide its residents with free energy in the future.

The windmill and the solar panels cost the municipality 2.5 million euros. According to Mayor Philippe Goffin, this is 'an investment', but the 'climatological and energy aspect is so important that the municipal authorities have to do this'.

In March, the Walloon government will vote on the proposal.

The residents and companies will still have to pay for the transport and use costs of the network.
