Petition support grows for Childrens Ombudsman

A petition calling for the tenure of the Children's Ombudsman has been signed by 35,000 people.

The tenure of Dullaert expire on April 1. National Ombudsman Reinier van Zutphen Dullaert decided not to nominate for a second term. The Children's Ombudsman himself would like to stay on as acting Children's Ombudsman, partly because otherwise important files are delayed, for example on refugee children.

The forced departure of Dullaert caused a lot of misunderstanding, not least because little has come out about the motivation.
