Peruvians argue against Fujimoris release

Thousands of Peruvians have taken to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the release of former President Alberto Fujimori.

Fujimori, who ruled the country with a hard hand for years, recently received favor from President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. Critics blame him for cow trading. Fujimori supporters had prevented parliament from starting a detention procedure against Kuczynski. Protesters waved flags on Thursday and chanted 'away with corrupt characters'.

The demonstration in Lima was mostly quiet. The police fired tear gas when demonstrators wanted to deviate from the agreed route to advance to the home of President Kuczynski. The Ministry of the Interior said that four people had been arrested, but refused to comment on the number of demonstrators.
