Parliament hit by ransomware
The lower house computer systems are hit by so-called ransomware.
If a computer is infected with ransomware the files are encrypted and it is usually the owner 'ransom' required to show quite the computer. The communications department of the Chamber would like to say little else about the matter, except that 'appropriate measures are taken. '
'ICT system parliament hit by ransomware,' Verhoeven tweeted earlier in the day. 'Very annoying but hopefully there is finally more awareness... #cyberveiligheid. '

ICT-systeem Tweede Kamer getroffen door ransomware. Heel vervelend maar hopelijk komt er nu eindelijk meer bewustzijn... #cyberveiligheid— Kees Verhoeven (@KeesVee) 28 maart 2017
