Pakistan claims to knock down Indian planes

Pakistan has carried out air strikes on targets in India-led Kashmir on Wednesday and claims to have shot two Indian planes in its own airspace.

The actions come a day after Indian fighter planes attacked Pakistan for the first time since a war in 1971. It was directed against militants by Jaish-e-Mohammed, a group that committed suicide on 14 February in Kashmir, killing at least 40 Indian paramilitaries. Tensions between the two countries have since risen dramatically.
