Opposition supporter shot dead in Paraguay

Paraguayan police early Saturday morning shot dead a 25-year supporter of the opposition.

The raid took place in the wake of rioting at the Paraguayan parliament building. Furious demonstrators stormed the building Friday afternoon. They did this in protest against a secret vote in the Senate that would allow a re-election of President Horacio Cartes.

On images shows how riot police at parliament building rubber bullets and tear gas grenades fired on the demonstrators. The police, however, could not prevent the fire was set inside the property. President Cartes called the fire ' the work of those who want to destroy democracy ''. He called for calm.
