One hundred migrants are drowning off Libya

For the Libyan coast, at least a hundred people on board of a boat with migrants drowned.

The Coast Guard was able to save fourteen survivors from the boat just to the east of the capital Tripoli. The coast guard also intercepted two migrant boats with two hundred people on board.

Libya is one of the most important starting points for migrants trying to cross over to Europe. Smugglers often send them out into the sea in crowded, rickety boats.
