OM South Africa sues former president Zuma

The South African Public Prosecutor is still persecuting former president Jacob Zuma for corruption.

The accusations are related to an alleged bribe affair. Justice investigated for years whether Zuma had accepted bribes from arms producers and had already made an attempt to prosecute him. Prosecutors withdrew the case in 2009, a few months before Zuma became president.

Zuma came under great pressure last month as president. He had been under fire for some time because of the persistent accusations of corruption. The 75-year-old leader eventually lost support from his own party, the ANC. Zuma stepped up before a vote of no confidence could be put to the vote.
