Obama wants more German involvement in NATO

US President Barack Obama wants during his visit to Hannover insist on more German involvement in NATO's deterrent of Russia.

The German army sent 5,500 soldiers this year on exercise and training to the eastern member states of NATO. The majority goes to Poland and the Baltic countries, which border Russia. It is 500 meters than in 2015. The number of maneuvers that the 'Bundeswehr' participating increased from sixteen to 21.

The proportion of Germans in NATO's rapid reaction force in crisis situations, however, decreased from 4700 to 3600 soldiers. The monitoring of the Baltic airspace, German Eurofighters last participated between August 2015 and early January.
