Obama: more Internet in Cuba

Cuba receives more internet access.

Obama is the first US president to visit Cuba since Calvin Coolidge in 1928. Obama's visit marks the end of the policy that Washington wanted to isolate the communist island altogether. The communist leader Fidel Castro turned to the Soviet Union after the seizure of power in 1959. Early sixties Washington imposed a strict trade embargo against Cuba.

Since 2014 relations between the two countries are restored. Last year, officially reopened the Cuban embassy in Washington and the US embassy in Havana. Fidel Castro's brother Raul dominated since 2006 on the island. He receives Obama Monday.
