Norwegian Court rejects case on Snowden

A Norwegian court on Monday decided a complaint from the US whistleblower Edward Snowden against the Norwegian government not to take into consideration.

A Norwegian foundation earlier this year awarded the Ossietzky prize to Snowden because of his struggle for the freedom of expression. Snowden has indicated only want to retrieve the price as Norway ensures that he will not be extradited to the United States and spread for that reason a lawsuit, which now has been rejected.

Last year it became known that the United States has made an official request to include Norway to extradite Snowden, he was allowed to visit that country. The Norwegian government went to his own words not on the US request because Snowden had not visited the country. Extradition explicitly exclude the government did not, however, too.
