North Korea chooses a new parliament

The North Koreans eligible for voting will choose a new parliament on Sunday, which currently has 687 members.

They are traditionally a formality in the closed, strictly communist country. For each district there is usually only one candidate, appointed by the all-determining Workers' Party. The voters may only say yes or no. In 2014 Kim also chose to be a delegate. He became the highest leader at the end of 2011 after the death of his father Kim Jong-il.
