Nobel laureate warns US and North Korea

A survivor of the nuclear attack on Hiroshima has called on the United States and North Korea to prevent a nuclear strike.

ICAN campaigner Thurlow and director Beatrice Fihn of the organization receive the prestigious award Sunday together. During a meeting with journalists, they showed up on Saturday about the increasing tension between two nuclear powers: North Korea and the United States.

'No man should endure what we have been through,' said Thurlow, who was 13 when the US bombed Hiroshima. 'I urge the leaders of North Korea and the US to never use nuclear weapons from the bottom of my heart. 'She called a diplomatic solution' the only solution. '

ICAN Director Fihn warned that the risk of a nuclear war has increased in the past year. She called on Washington and Pyongyang to refrain from 'dangerous' rhetoric. 'Stop threats to use weapons of mass destruction. '
