New suspect of Thalys attack arrested

A 36-year-old Moroccan was arrested by the French and Spanish police on suspicion of involvement in a failed attack in an express train from Amsterdam to Paris on August 21, 2015.

The Spanish Interior Ministry announced that the new suspect was arrested in Paris on Wednesday morning. He lives in Spain and was on his way to Belgium. At the end of October, a man suspected of complicity was also arrested in Belgium. He was delivered to France three months later.

Al-Khazzani came from Syria shortly before the attack in the Thalys. He probably knew Abdelhamid Abaaoud. This was the brain behind the bloody attacks in Paris in November 2015.
