New look for YouTube

YouTube has said goodbye to the original logo after twelve years.

The main change on desktop version is the ability to choose a dark instead of white background. This update has already been available in the beta version in recent months, but is now available to everyone. Choose for dark theme by clicking on your profile picture at the top right of the screen.

New in the YouTube app is the ability for users to forward or rewind ten seconds by double-clicking on the left and right of the screen. In the coming months, YouTube offers the option of swiping directly to the next video in a Tinder-like way. New in the app is the option to choose slow motion or accelerated playback of the video.

YouTube says, in the short term, to adjust the app so that it can also be viewed vertically or in a square frame. This brings an end to the black beams for people looking vertically.
