New cases of ebola in Mbandaka city

In the city of Mbandaka in the northwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo three new cases of the infectious Ebola disease have been detected.

Mbandaka is a city with more than one million inhabitants, located on the Congo a transit port for trade and transport to the capital Kinshasa. There had certainly been one case earlier this week.

The World Health Organization WHO expressed its concerns. As a result, the outbreak, which is estimated to have killed 25 people, is much more difficult to combat. Until then, the deadly cases were mainly in more isolated areas, where it was easier for authorities to contain the virus.
