Needles in strawberries: woman (50) picked up after searching for weeks

The Queensland police have arrested a 50-year-old woman suspected of having put needles and pins in strawberries.

The affair caused major upheaval in Australia from 12 September. Later that month, New Zealand also sounded alarms after the discovery of trays of 'stifled' strawberries. The harvest of the affected growers was taken off the market. The authorities praised a reward of 100,000 dollars (62,000 euros) for the golden tip that would lead to a detention.
