Nazi actress Marika Rokk was Soviet spy

Marika Rokk was during the Nazi period, the absolute top as an actress.

The German intelligence discovered sophisticated doubles of Rökk already in 1951, but kept that knowledge secret, reports include the German magazine Bild on Monday.

The beautiful actress had Hungarian parents and rolled as an opera singer, actress and dancer in Germany's cultural life. In no time, her fame unstoppable and she was all over the top of the Nazi government friends. She played in forty movies. She would be recruited as a spy by her manager Heinz Hoffmeister.

What information they played through to Moscow over the years is still undiscovered. She was part of the so-called Kronanetwerk that the Russians more highly classified information by playing on the invasion of the Soviet Union.

Rökk ended her career in 1951. She died at the age of ninety in 2004 in Austria.
