Mysterious ship on beach

Authorities in Liberia sit with an oil tanker in their stomachs.

The 64 meter long ship with the year 1980 is registered in Panama. The last reported position of the tanker was on April 21 near the coast of Gambia and Senegal on the West African coast. The ship was en route to the Senegalese capital Dakar, says the Liberian Daily Observer newspaper.

In Liberia, the authorities have no idea what happened and where the crew remained. Maybe the owner was bankrupt and therefore decided the crew to disembark, suggested a port employee.

At Marine Traffic mentioned the international register of shipping movements, no owner is. Some African media claim that the ship has a Nigerian owner.
