Miner (18) killed by grizzly bear

An eighteen-year-old miner was killed in a grizzly bear in Alaska.

The victim worked at a silver mine in the southeast of Alaska. He was working on drilling at a remote location that can only be reached by helicopter, the mining company said.

The attack took place on Admiralty Island, a place known for its large population of grizzly bears. The Indian name of the island is Kootznoowoo, which can be translated as 'fortress of the bear'.
