Migrant boy was infected with flu virus

The 8-year-old boy from Guatemala who died in American border custody on Christmas Eve may have died of flu according to the authorities in New Mexico.

The boy was taken to the hospital by the American border authorities Monday after his arrest on 18 December. The diagnosis there was that he had caught cold, but no flu. After 90 minutes he was again transferred to the border authorities. When the child vomited and lost consciousness, it was returned to the same hospital where it died shortly before midnight.
