Mexico wants to legalize gay marriage

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has spoken out firmly for national recognition and respect for the gay rights.

The newspaper 'El Universal' reported that he signed the initiative for a constitutional amendment Tuesday. There is any form of discrimination a criminal offense and guaranteed equal rights for all, Peña Nieto said during a meeting on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia.

The new law does include the legalization of gay marriage throughout Mexico. Now that is allowed only in the capital and in three of the 31 states. The Supreme Court Head ruled last year that a wedding ban on same-sex unconstitutional.,, It can not be that in a few provinces rights exist and not in others, 'said the president.
