May, Merkel and Macron discuss attack nerve gas

British Prime Minister Theresa May, Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron are discussing the attack with nerve gas in Salisbury, England on a Russian old double-spy.

Member States are not aligned. According to Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, the EU is 'in solidarity' with the British, but must deal with the issue 'very responsibly'. The draft text now states that the EU takes the British assessment 'extremely seriously' that 'most likely' the Russians are responsible. May, Macron and Merkel want harder words.

According to May, the 'reckless attack' on Sergey Skripal is part of 'a pattern of Russian aggression against Europe'. It is still too early for any additional EU sanctions against Moscow. According to May, there are EU countries that are considering expelling Russian diplomats. Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that this is 'not on the agenda'.
