May and Trump: joint response to Syria

US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May have agreed that they should have a joint answer as a deterrent to the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

Trump and May talked to each other after the major ministers of Britain had expressed their support for possible retaliatory actions with the US and France to counter the further use of chemical weapons by the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

'They agree that it must be clear that the use of chemical weapons is not without consequences. In addition, it is important to discourage the future use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime, 'the May Ministry said in a statement. 'Both countries have agreed to work closely together on an international response. '
