Massacre in Nigerian church

At least seventeen people were killed by an attack on a Catholic church in Nigeria.

Two priests and several believers were killed by the attack. The perpetrators fled afterwards. President Muhammadu Buhari said in a statement that the massacre is meant to unleash a 'religious conflict' and 'incite our communities to endless bloodshed'.

Many nomads have transferred their herds to the south of the country in recent years due to the drought. They were repeatedly in conflict with local farmers.
