Many houses in flames in a fire in Chile

A large fire in the Chilean coastal city of Valparaiso has ensured that at least a hundred houses in flames are gone and another 500 homes are in danger of being affected by the fire.

The fire began in a nature reserve and then reached the suburb on the south side of the city of Valparaiso. The high temperatures combined with strong winds have helped the fire rose so high.

Some 47 000 people were sitting a long time without power, but that has now been largely solved. Some 50 firefighters join the fight against the fire.

It is not the first time that Valparaiso is on fire. In 2014, there were 13 people in a fire and burned two thousand homes from.

Valparaiso is on a steep mountain and pine trees. In the town are mainly wooden houses.
