Man survives 17 months without his heart

The 25-year-old American Stan Larkin lived for nearly eighteen months with an artificial heart.

In December 2014 was removed in his heart and replaced with an external artificial heart, a machine which weighs more than six kilograms. The device, a kind of backpack is designed for people with heart failure and complete pumping all that time the blood through the body of Larkin.

Although the recovery of the American progressing well, he describes the past year and a half as an 'emotional rollercoaster'. 'I received the transplant two weeks ago and I feel that I can jog now.
