Man gets repentance after 44 years and pays fine

A man from the American town of Minersville, Pennsylvania, has paid his parking fine after 44 years.

On the excuse note you can read: 'Dear PD, I've been carrying this ticket around for 40 plus years. Always intending to pay. Forgive me if I do not give you my info. With respect, Dave. '

The amount of the 44-year-old fine is two dollars, but the man sent three dollar interest. The same fine would have cost twenty dollars today.

Police chief Michael Combs says in conversation with WNEP-TV that the car came from Ohio and that in 1974, they did not have the technical means to trace cars from outside the state of Pennsylvania.
