Man dies by exploding wedding gift

A newly married man in India and his grandmother were killed because a wedding gift exploded on opening.

A few days after the end of their marriage, Soumya Sekhar and Reema Sahu held a reception in the city of Patnagarh in eastern India, according to the Hindustan Times newspaper Saturday. A family member announced that a gift had been delivered there that exploded immediately upon opening.

The groom and his 85-year-old grandmother were seriously injured to the hospital. There they died.

The police do not know who the wedding gift came from and what the motive was for the attack. The police suspect that someone from Patnagarh or the surrounding area has had the gift delivered.
