Maffia emigrates to Germany

The Italian mafia is increasingly taking the area to Germany.

The Bild magazine reports Monday that the number of mafia members in Germany has been fourfold since 2008. Nine years ago there were 136 names on the list of the German justice. The figures are confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior in Berlin.

The mafia groups N'drangheta from the southern region of Calabria and Cosa Nostra of Sicily are represented by 333 and 124 members, respectively, in Germany. The German justice has begun a preliminary investigation against a member of the mafia since 2008. Over the past eight years, 5,6 million euros of criminal money were also seized.
