Maduro releases 36 opponents

Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro has released 36 opponents of his regime from prison so that they can spend the holidays with their loved ones.

A day earlier, Maduro had announced that they would remove eighty members of the opposition from the cell and give them an alternative punishment, such as social services. Critics at home and abroad constantly criticize the socialist regime in Caracas for arresting and detaining 270 activists.
